About C. T. Emerson
C. T. Emerson lives in North Carolina with his wife and two fluffy cats. He’s the creator of the award-winning NOVA series and the World of Egasium. In his spare time he enjoys eating ice cream.
After growing up in México from 1994 through 2010, he graduated from Davidson College in 2016, earning degrees in political science, Spanish literature, and procrastination.

In film, temp scores—AKA placeholder music—are edited to punctuate an early cut of a movie or trailer. Think back to Man of Steel’s debut trailer—it used a score from The Fellowship of the Ring to great effect. For my writing process, that manifests rather similarly. Only instead of a cut of a movie, it’s a cut of an imagined scene that’s been in my head for a very long time.
